Your game data, explained
Privacy & saved progress.
Prepared September 10, 2026 for the version 1.2 release.
Cosmic Merge does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or a developer-operated account service. Playing does not require creating an account with us.
Stored on your device
The app stores audio, haptic, graphics, and accessibility preferences; personal bests and lifetime statistics; collection discoveries and their dates; and tutorial completion. Version 1.2 also stores one current run, including its board, score, queue, random generator state, abilities, and gameplay timers.
Daily attempt dates and results stay on the device. A random installation identifier and run sequence numbers prevent duplicate progress counting. A device marker is used locally to distinguish a backup restored onto another device; that marker is not sent to us or written to the iCloud progress record.
iCloud progress synchronization
When your Apple Account supports iCloud synchronization, version 1.2 uses Apple’s iCloud key-value storage to synchronize Classic and Zen best scores, lifetime statistics, and collection discoveries. Progress records include a random installation identifier, cumulative counters, and discovery dates so updates from different devices can be combined.
Your live board, daily attempts and results, and settings do not sync through this feature. We do not operate a server that receives these iCloud records. Availability and account controls are managed by Apple.
Game Center
If you sign in to Game Center, the app submits Classic scores and eligible achievement progress to Apple. Leaderboards and achievements use your Game Center player identity according to your Apple settings.
Pending submissions and confirmation state are stored locally by Game Center player identifier. Offline progress associated with a previously signed-in player remains with that player. Progress earned before any player signs in is assigned to the first player who signs in. Daily Practice, Zen, and tutorial runs do not submit competitive scores or achievements.
Sharing a result
On iPhone and iPad, choosing Share creates a results card with an image of your board, score, highest tier, best combo, mode, and daily date when applicable. The share sheet also includes an App Store link. The app does not send the card automatically; you choose the destination and complete the share.
Controls and deletion
You can change preferences in Settings and end a saved run from the game. Starting a new run asks before replacing an existing saved board. The app does not offer a global progress reset in version 1.2, and deleting the app does not necessarily remove progress stored by iCloud or Game Center. Apple provides account and service controls for those records. Removing the app can delete local continuation and daily records, so contact support before reinstalling to troubleshoot a missing save.
